Orlando Academy School of Health Professions has been approved by SEVIS to offer I-20 visas to international students.   

If you are accepted to Orlando Academy, the school will give you Form I-20 M-N/ID (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status – For Vocational Students (M-1).  If you are outside the U.S. and require a visa, you should then take the Form I-20 to the nearest U.S. Consulate and obtain a M-1 student visa.  You must also be able to prove to the consulate that you have the financial resources required for your education and stay in the United States.

HOW TO APPLY

1.    APPLY FOR ADMISSION

To complete the application process, you must provide the following before the application deadline (see deadline below).  Applications and documents not completed by the deadline will not be processed and the application for admission will be deferred to the next term.  It is recommended that you make copies of all documents you submit to the School.  This will help you process your paperwork with the U.S. Consulate and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).

  • Official High School Diploma OR Official College/University Transcript

All applicants must provide official proof of high school diploma or equivalency OR College/University transcript prior to being accepted to the School.  All transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope from the college or university.

  •  Affidavit of Financial Support

Submit a signed notarized Affidavit of Financial Support.

  •  Proof of Bank Deposit

Submit on bank letterhead in English, an official letter confirming that your sponsor, parent, or guardian has the financial resources to finance your college education.  Funds in deposit must be shown in U.S. dollars.

  •  Proof of English Proficiency

Submit TOEFL Exam score.  (If your native language is English, a TOEFL is not required.)  If TOEFL Exam score is not available, student must take LOEP exam at Orlando Academy prior to start of classes.

 

2.    APPLY FOR STUDENT VISA

Apply for Student Visa (M-Visa) at U.S. Consulate or Embassy in your country of residence.

 

 

 

INT’L CNA PROGRAM

Semester Abroad in beautiful Orlando Florida!

The International Certified Nursing Assistant program is designed for international students enrolled in foreign nursing schools. Enhance your career opportunities while obtaining valuable education and experience at American hospitals, clinics, and nursing centers.  The Intl CNA Program offers a broad overview of American healthcare practices and procedures.

How long?  3 months

What courses do you take? 

  • Intensive Healthcare English
  • American Culture and Healthcare Systems
  • Nursing education training
  • Eligible to sit for the State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)
  • 1 week clinical externship at American hospital, nursing center, or clinic

INT’L PCT PROGRAM

For nursing students or international licensed nurses

Advance your knowledge of healthcare professions through in depth instruction and development.  This program offers advanced theory and practice as a Patient Care Technician.  It also includes 1-month hands-on clinical experience at American hospitals, clinics, and nursing centers.  Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for 1-month of employment through OPT.

How long?  4 months

What courses do you take? 

  • Intensive Healthcare English & Culture
  • Healthcare Systems & NCLEX Review
  • PCT Training and CPCT National Certification
  • 1-mo. of clinical externship

 Certifications? 

  • Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
  • Certified EKG Technician (CET)

 Unique features of this program? 

  • 1-month clinical externship
  • Eligible for 1-month of paid employment through Optional Practical Training (OPT)

 

 

 

INT’L MA PROGRAM

For nursing students or international licensed nurses

Deepen your knowledge of healthcare professions through this specialized instruction and training as an International Medical Assistant.  This program is designed to meet your professional needs by providing advanced studies in both clinical and administrative functions of the American healthcare systems.  This program includes 1-month of hands-on clinical experience at hospitals, nursing centers, and physician’s offices.  Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to apply for 2-months employment through OPT.

How long?  8 months

  • MA Training and CCMA National Certification
  • 1-mo. of clinical externship

INT’L ADVANCED NURSING PROGRAM

Limited to international licensed nurses ONLY

Registered Nurses holding valid nursing licenses from their country of residence are eligible to apply for acceptance into the Advanced Nursing Technician Program.  Prepare yourself to the ever-increasing body of healthcare knowledge while meeting your specific need in your journey to working in America.  This comprehensive program includes certifications as CCMA, CPCT, CPT, and CET.

 

How long?  12 months

  • MA/PCT Training and CCMA/CPCT National Certification
  • 2-mo. of clinical externship
